| Purpose |

The Research Committee shall be responsible for developing and maintaining data collections, statistics, and reports that serve the mission of the Association and its member institutions. |

| Duties |
| |
|
|
| |
The Research Committee shall:
1. Identify issues that would benefit from supporting or illustrative data.
2. At the request of the MSFAA Executive Board or Committees, provide data to enhance discussions on topics of interest to the Association.
3. Initiate surveys of Association schools to create and maintain a summary overview of characteristics of general interest.
4. Review published financial aid research and inform Association members of relevant articles.
5. Maintain a database of financial aid research to assist members in conducting their regular employment responsibilities.
6. Serve as a resource for Association members or appropriate external agencies about data relevant to student financial aid in Michigan.
7. Provide information to the membership through the MSFAA website, MIFINAID, and Mentor on the Web.
8. Make presentations on research topics of general interest at conferences.
9. Work with State of Michigan, MASFAA, and NASFAA research committees as appropriate.

The President will appoint a Chair (or Co-Chairs) for the Committee from the MSFAA membership. The Chair(s) will be responsible for selecting additional members, if needed, from MSFAA member institutions. |
