| Purpose |

The News Committee serves as the communication link between the membership and the activities of the Executive Council and the Committees.
|

| Duties |
| |
|
|
| |
1. Responsible for the publication of the MSFAA News.
a. Identify topics for presentation in publication
b. Solicit and/or develop articles
c. Establish regular columns/features to ensure proper coverage of MSFAA activities
d. Establish appropriate deadlines for each issue and maintain publication schedule
e. Review sensitive articles/advertisements with Communications Committee Chair
f. Follow editing rules and be sensitive to copyright laws
g. Publish newsletter on the MSFAA website
h. Communicate to membership when articles are available
2. Select material that will promote the professional image of MSFAA.
3. Demonstrate sensitivity to issues of diversity, financial aid and report information objectively.
4. Promote MSFAA activities and MSFAA membership benefits.
5. Promote goodwill.
6. Recognize and promote committee and individual involvement.
7. Work with sector representatives and committee chairs for articles.
The MSFAA News is published four times a year in the months of January, March, June and September. |

The President will appoint a Chair (or Co-Chairs) for the Committee from the MSFAA membership. The Chair(s) will be responsible for selecting additional members, if needed, from MSFAA member institutions. Committee chairs, regional directors, and elected officials are ex officio committee members who are expected to contribute information on respective activities. Volunteers with creative, editorial, and writing skills are also sought to contribute to specific news articles, stories, artistic work, etc.
